To Live Happily All the Time

——about “Three Men in A Boat”

Most fairy tales end like this:“They live happily ever after.” But to George, Harris and J, “ever after” is far from enough. Their belief is to live happily ALL THE TIME. Who are these three guys? They are the “bestest” pals from a humorous English book — Three Men in A Boat.

Just take a look at these three funny guys: You can meet them anywhere at any time. All of them have great aspirations and plenty of passion. But in the morning, none of them like to wake up early. All of them want to be great explorers. But on rainy days, they all prefer to stay by the warm fireplace. Yes, it’s our Harris, George and J. And now, they are taking a vacation on the famous Thames.

They started off in a little boat, which none of them would like to drive. They kept explaining that they didn’t come out for fun—they were taking a rest because of some so called “dreadful disease”. When they were traveling, they couldn’t stop making jokes on others. When they were cooking, they couldn’t stop the eggs from getting on their pans. when they finally gave up the boat and went home by train, they still couldn’t stop telling each other how clever it was to be “three men out of boat”……

Such a simple story has brought me lots of laugher and thoughts. I laughed over their funny troubles and funny talkings all along the trip. And also I found that I came to admire them after laughing each time. Because when they met something in trouble, or their own complicated jobs came, first, they would burst into laughter at once, and then started to solve the problem slowly with partience and happiness. Sometimes I was surprised by them. Because something that happens in our daily life such as losing the wallet, or a bad weather, will make every one of us complain and be upset for long. But how about the three men in the boat? They will certainly laugh at it first! They giggle, they grin, they smile. They have taught me how to laugh at trouble, to smile at hard work, and to laugh away tears. It’s a good way to face my blue days. As a student, I always complain about my homework, my parents, and my classmates. But George, Harris and J told me: there’s no point in complaining. Just face your life and try to find the good side of everything. And also remember to cherish friendship—like the three of them.

Yes, yes. Sometimes they seemed to be “cynical” or “lazy”. But the fire of live, diligence, and happiness is burning in their hearts all the time. To them, the so called “dreadful disease” is only an excuse for their going out to relax. To them, all the trouble is the chance to use both patience and laughter. To them, all the hard work is the gift from God to make them stronger and happier.

Don’t just stare at the “happy ending” of “living happily every after”. Think about the three men in the boat. They are common guys like you and me. But they are all very great—They have the ability to make themselves live happily ALL THE TIME.

Recently I read a novel called A Tale of Two Cities. The novel is based on the French Revolution. It was 1775,both England and France were on the verge of Revolution .England"s king ,George Ⅲ,was having trouble with his American colonies .And France "s king ,LouisⅩⅥ, was too concerned with his own wealth to worry about his people .

Therefore, neither king noticed the changes taking place in his country .They didn"t realize ,or care ,that the peasants were hungry and unhappy .They never thought that anything was wrong with the way things were .They were wealthy ,and they thought only of themselves.

But the peasants were tired of being treated unfairly. They were tired of watching the kings waste money while their own children starved. So, in both London and Paris, the lower classes prepared to revolt .They were ready to force the kings to make a change.

Then one day in July of 1789, the Revolution began in France .Armed peasants ran through the streets of Saint Antoine .Their leader, Ernest Defarge continued to pass out weapons. The men cheered and waved their weapons in the air .Then, they marched toward the Bastille.

The novel also talks the story of two men, Charles Darnay and Sydney Carton., who look similar but are very different in personality. Darnay is a romantic French aristocrat, his uncle is the Marquis St.

Evremonde. The Marquis is infamous for his cruelty. While is a cynical English barrister. However, the two are in love with the same woman, Lucie Manette.

Charles Darnay is not cruel like his uncle has been. When he knew his servant is in danger, he went to France at once to defend him. He had promised his mother that he would help the peasants. He had a hard time traveling through France. When he finally reached Paris, he was taken prisoner. In my point of view, Charles Darnay is innocent, he is not cruel.

The other one is Sydney Carton.

In my opinion, he is a wonderful man. He once said,‘I am not worthy of your love, but I want you to know that I wish for your happiness. I hope that we will able to remain close friends. Miss Manette, I would give my life for you. Never forget that, Lucie.’ Eventually, he was to die in Charles Darnay’s place. Because Charles Darnay is Lucie’s husband, and they led a happy life. In order to help Lucie live a enjoyable life, he was to die in Charles Darnay’s place.

From the novel "A tale of two cities ".I learn much ,not only the Revolution in two different cities ,but also the deep relationship between people .I"m impressed by Mr. Manette"s tough spirit ,never give in to difficulties .Even though he had been imprisoned a long time ,he struggled to live. He was also an upright man .When his son -in -law was arrested by the Revolutionists, Dr.Manette strongly defended Charles Darnay ,hoped that the Revolutionists could release Charles Darnay .

Lucie Manette gives me a deep impression .At the beginning of the novel, I learn that her father had passed, but then,Mr. Lorry told her that her father was still alive. Because Lucie "s father was imprisoned for a long time .Her mother begged the king to help her ,but he gave no re* .She suffered terribly when her husband disappeared ,so she told her daughter that her father had died .But she never stopped looking for Lucie"s father .The king was of no help ,and she never found even one clue .Two years after his disappearance ,she died .

I am dee* impressed by the other characters in the novel.

Mr.Lorry is also a good man ,at the first of the novel ,when he met Miss Lucie ,and told her that her father was still alive .Besides ,he helped her

to find her father in Paris .On the way to Paris ,they experienced many difficulties .But Mr.Lorry didn"t give up helping Miss Lucie and Lucie "s father .As far as I concerned ,it not only show his hospitality but also show his hatred to the European royal.

In Paris, the Marquis St. Evrémonde, Darnay"s uncle, is returning from an audience with Monseigneur, one of the "greatest lords in France", when his coach runs over and kills the son of the peasant Gaspard; he throws a coin to Gaspard to compensate him for his loss; in the assembled crowd is the implacable tricoteuse, Madame Defarge. He throws the money back, enraging the Marquis and leading him to exclaim that he would willingly kill any of the peasants of France.

If I were a peasant at that time in England or France,I would join in the revolution with no hesitation .All man are equal .The king of country should concern his people whether they are starving or homeless .We can learn much from history in our country or in other countries ,only when the leader of the country cares much about his people"s life can the country be stronger .People are the base of the country ,without people ,country can not be stronger and can not develop.

"A tale of two cities" is one of Dickens"s most important representative works. The novel profoundly exposed the society contradiction before the French Revolution, intensely attacks the aristocratic social class is dissolute and cruel, and sincerely sympathizes with the depressed classes. The novel also described many magnificent scenes like the revolt people attacked Bastille and so on,which displayed people"s great strength. The novel has portrayed many different people. Doctor Manette is honest and kind but suffers the persecution actually , Lucie is beautiful and gentle ,Charles is graceful and noble,Lorry is upright and honest ,Sydney is semblance of indifferent, innermost feelings of warm, unconventional but also selfless and lofty,Miss Pross is straightforward and loyal,Evremonde brothers are cruel and sinister……

The complex hatred is hard to solve, the cruel revenge has made more hatreds, loves rebirth in the hell edge, but take the life as the price. As an outstanding writer,in Dickens"s work, the language skill is essential. Each kind of rhetoric technique, like the *ogy, the exaggeration, the contrast, the humorous, and the taunt are handled skillfully, and the artistry of the work is also delivered the peak."A tale of two cities" has its difference with the general historical novel, its character and the main plot are all fictionalizes. With the broad real background of the French Revolution, the author take the fictional character Doctor Manette"s experience as the main clue, interweaves the unjust charge, love and revenge three independences but also incident cross-correlation stories together, the plot is criss-crossed,and the clue is complex. The author use narrates, foreshadowing, upholstery and so many techniques, causes the structure integrity and strictness, the plot winding anxious and rich of theatrical nature,it displayed the remarkable artistic skill.the style "A tale of two cities" is solemnity and melancholy, fills indignantion, but lacks the humor of the early works.

Recently, I have read a very interesting book, the Adventures of Tom Sawyer. And the companion volume is the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. This book described an American boy, Tom Sawyer’s fantastic adventure. The author of this novel is one of my favorite writers, Mark Twain, who was honored as “the literary giant” and was good at writing satirical novels. The reason that I enjoy Mark Twain’s composition is that he always brought me into a funny world by using very simple description but perfect writing skills and attractive story structures. Nevertheless, when I finished reading his words, I would think some deeper and serious things that he wanted to convey to us. The style of Mark Twain’s composition is humorous but actually very sharp, which exposed the weakness and the hypocrite of human nature and expressed his desiring for a perfect and ideal world.

You don"t know about me if you haven"t read a book called the Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Mr. Mark Twain wrote the book and most of it is true. The * of this novel, Tom Sawyer, was a brave and active boy. But he got tired of his family, his school as well as the church. He was not satisfied with a hidebound life but dreamed of a free and venturesome life. This naughty but clever boy lost his parents since child. Thus he lived with his aunt who loved him very much. He always escaped from school, and played various games with his friends. He even fell in love with a girl and tried again and again to win her favor. One day, Tom and his friend Huck came across a murdering. An Indian Joe killed a doctor because of disagreement and im*d it to another partner Porter. The two young boys were extremely frightened and decided to keep the secret. But actually Tom was anxious all the time. After that, Tom had conflict with the girl, he leaved at home with Huck angrily and started their adventure. People in the town thought that they had died. When they held funeral for these boys, Tom and his friends appeared. Since then, Tom became hero in school, and reconciled with that girl. Soon, the court was about to judge that murder case. When everyone considered Porter as the murderer, Tom bravely exposed the true murderer Joe. But unfortunately, Joe ran away, so Tom was trapped into enormous anxiety. Once time, Tom met a partner of Joe in a haunted house. He heard that they would go to find treasure. Several days later, Tom went to a picnic with his friends. But he and the girl Becky got lost in a cave. They had suffered from hunger, thirsty, darkness and coldness for days in that cave. Worse still, they found that Indian Joe also in that cave. This time, all the town folk believed that they must have die. Especially Tom’ aunt and Thatcher were in deep sorrow. Beyond people’ expectation, Tom and Becky found the way, and was sent to their home by others. And because of this accident, the cave was sealed. When Tom heard that, he told the judge that Joe was still stay at that cave. When the judge fetched someone to check it, Joe had died in the cave. Then, Tom and Huck got into that cave again, and found the treasure that Joe and his partner were finding. Tom got a happy ending, he became a rich man and was popular in his town.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is a clear reflection of the child"s life is full of Children"s novels. I have to say that clever Tom reminded me of my childhood. We always lost something as we grow up and gradually got lost in our life. A child would not tell lies to other, a child would speak out their feelings without hesitation, a child would care too much about other’s opinions, and a child would bravely do what they wanted. Likewise, in that time, people were pretty reserve, and they did not dare to tell their own ideas, neither fight against the tradition. But Tom was brave. He challenged the tradition. He never restricted himself into school or homework like other child, he loved adventure and different challenges instead. He exposed the true murderer even though he might be dangerous. So the author Mark Twain designed a good ending for Tom.

It was Mark Twain’s humor that attracted me most. But there was not only humor, people who read his books would learn something serious. He told us: tell the truth forever, such of words you need not record you to once say somewhat. Someone said that Mark Twain gave pleasure-real intellectual enjoyment to millions, and his work will continue to give such pleasure to millions yet to come. His humor was American, but he was nearly as much appreciated by Englishmen and people of other countries as by his own countrymen. He has made an enduring part of American literature.

In a word, I gained much from this fantastic novel, and learned a lot from Tom Sawyer. And I believe that these harvests will have great effects on my whole life.

Tom Sawyer is a cunning, playful boy. He seems to be a showoff and likes to show his authority over other boys. He is around twelve years old as gathered from hints in Twain"s works. Tom is supposed to represent the carefree and wonderful world of boyhood in the early-mid 1800s. His best friends include Joe Harper and Huckleberry Finn. In The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Tom"s infatuation with Rebecca (alias Becky) Thatcher is apparent. He has a half-brother, Sid, a cousin, Mary, and his aunt is known as Aunt Polly, all with whom he lives. Tom is Aunt Polly"s dead sister"s son. It is unknown how Tom"s mother died.

Among the adventures Tom gets himself into are going pirating with Huck Finn And Joe Harper. He also stumbles upon Injun Joe"s crime in which Widow Douglass is almost killed, and where thousands of gold rounds were involved. He also gets trapped with Becky Thacher, his fiancée, in a cave. After which, Injun Joe dies, and Huck gets adopted by the widow.

today, i was read the book which called “the adventures of tom sawyer.” this story is about a clever boy called tom sawyer.

this book describes the nineteenth century, the mississippi river in a small town people"s lives, it can be said at the time the united states are a microcosm of social life. small characters tom sawyer and his junior partner and seriously childish words and deeds can give us deep insight. they hate priests pack of lies, and do not like boring school of education and decently *s, and children a rival show. they smart and lively , integrity and courage, especially in some major events happened when, in a battle between justice and evil, in the moment of crisis comes, they will not hesitate to come forward.i think tom sawyer is a brave boy. he always gives his friends courage in danger and he tries his best to help other people.

of course we know, tom is a very naughty boy, and his aunt polly is often angry with him. but i think he also is a good boy. he always can make other people happy.

people always grow, besides height, body has grown stronger, and people’s thoughts are long. your view on the world is different, sensible, and no longer childish. but people are getting better.

don"t like the adventures of the ruthless villains, and his quest do bad, people see people hate. but at last he still las toman, got a starved to death in the cave.

after reading the "adventures of tom sawyer," i really envy tom to have such an interesting experience. it seems this book with relish, and even sleepless nights.

in my heart, i respect tom. maybe he is a hero. and i think i should learn something from tom sawyer.

I read a very interesting book, the name of the book is called "Tom Sawyer, I like the book in the little hero and some story happened on him.

Tom is a naughty, naive and lively children, but in the eyes of an * who is also a real bad boy, he naughty, like mischief, play truant, the nature is the norm, not only in this way, he make trouble method also each time, let a person elusive, small-scale operations. Although he is a very bad very bad child, but also to make people laugh: penalty was painting the walls, and could come up with a good way to make a friend for him to complete, and make friends with him to take a variety of foods and toys for a chance to paint the walls. In this way, Tom not only comfortable, leisure and suddenly gained a lot of gifts.

Let me more impressive is the story of Tom and huck and Joe three people formed a team when the pirates fled to a desert island. In this adventure, he met with difficulties, but he didn"t lose heart, don"t give up, again and again to challenge difficulties bravely, until down with difficulty.

After reading this book, I feel that we meet with difficulties don"t get discouraged, and strive to insist on. Tom lives full of sunshine also tells us: as long as there is joy, have a dream, a dream can come true!

The tale of two cities is a historical story, one of Dickens’ long fictions. The background to the novel is the revolution of France .It portrayed a brutal and bloody story , but it also contained love and friendship.

In the novel, Dickens sarcastically described a typical cruel nobleman—marquis of Evermonde . When he was young he and his brother stole a countrywoman by force and killed her family .What’s worse , he used his power to imprison Dr Manette , a kind and honest man who knew all the things they had done and wanted to disclose their crimes . In order to hide their crimes. Marquis of Evermonde and his brother threw Doctor Manette into prison for 18 years . During these 18 years,Doctor Manette lost his freedom and suffer a great in spirit .

I felt unthinkable that Marquis of Evermonde and his brother killed people just as easily as they killed chickens. They deprived other people’s freedom as they liked and they thought it was normal and unremarkable. They had never realized that they had done something wrong or something improper. Because their nature was cruel and evil, like demons. There is an old saying which means: People who commit too many crimes will kill themselves. After all, there is justice in the world. The demons can’t be rampant forever. Because the world will not forgive them. They will pay their lives for their crimes. Let’s see the consequence of the Marquis,’’He lay there like a stone with a knife pushed into his heart.” I think it was just what he ought to gain and it is a real exciting scene.

The Marquis’ death was just the beginning of people’s resistance to the nobleman. Gradually more and more people joined in the revolution. One after another nobleman were sentenced to death and their heads were cut down . However, some innocent people were implicated in the revolution. Charles Darney was one of them He was the nephew of Marquis of Evermonde. To the opposite of his uncle, Darney was a kind and independent young man.

Dickens spoke highly of kindnemercy and love in the novel too. This is the other thone of the novel when Doctor Manette was released from prison. It was his daughter Lucie who took care of him and helped him return to normal. During this time, Dr manette and Lucie knew Charles Darney and Sydeny Carton, the two young man fell in love with Lucie at the same time . At last, Lucie married Chares Darney .Dr Manette accepted Darney as his son-in-law although he knew that Darney was the nephew of the man who threw him into prison for18 years. This is the love between father and daughter. And Sydeny Carton , the very great man ,loved Lucie dee*. He promised Lucie that he would do everything for her happiness. He did it truely ,he sacrificed himself instead of Darney who looked the same as him. This is love for lovers . This is the most wonderful thing in the world. It also reminds us that no matter how no matter when there is true love existing. At the end , Lucie, Dr Manette and Darney arrived in England safely.

The tale of two cities is different from other historical fictions. Its characters and main plots are fictional under the real background of the revolution of France. The author made the experience of the fictional charactor Dr Manette as the main clue. The plots are complicated, and they are flexuous and dramatic. The structure is complete and rigorous.

Dickens had dear love and hate. He praised those who ought to be praised and attacked those who ought to be attacked. The motivation of the novel maybe just warn the English dominators. But I think we can learn something meaningful from the tale of two cities.

Oliver Twist, one of the most famous works of Charles Dickens’, is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in Britain in 18th century.

The author who himself was born in a poor family wrote this novel in his twenties with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals and to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in London.

The hero of this novel was Oliver Twist, an orphan, who was thrown into a world full of poverty and crime. He suffered enormous pain, such as hunger, thirst, beating and abuse. While reading the tragic experiences of the little Oliver, I was shocked by his sufferings. I felt for the poor boy, but at the same time I detested the evil Fagin and the brutal Bill. To my relief, as was written in all the best stories, the goodness eventually conquered devil and Oliver lived a happy life in the end. One of the plots that attracted me most is that after the theft, little Oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of Mrs. Maylie and Rose and began a new life. He went for walks with them, or Rose read to him, and he worked hard at his lessons. He felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty.

How can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? The reason is the nature of goodness. I think it is the most important information implied in the novel by Dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. Although I don’t think goodness is omnipotent, yet I do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded.

For me, the nature of goodness is one of the most necessary character for a person. Goodness is to humans what water is to fish. He who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person. On the contrary, as the famous saying goes, ‘The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose’, he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person. People receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done, and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself.

To my disappointment, nowadays some people seem to doubt the existence of the goodness in humanity. They look down on people’s honesty and kindness, thinking it foolish of people to be warm-hearted. As a result, they show no sympathy to those who are in trouble and seldom offer to help others. On the other hand, they attach importance to money and benefit. In their opinion, money is the only real object while emotions and morality are nihility. If they cannot get profit from showing their ‘kindness’, they draw back when others are faced with trouble and even hit a man when he is down. They are one of the sorts that I really detest.

  A TALE OF TWO CITIES

The tale of two cities is a historical story, one of Dickens’ long fictions. The background to the novel is the revolution of France .It portrayed a brutal and bloody story , but it also contained love and friendship.

In the novel, Dickens sarcastically described a typical cruel nobleman-marquis of Evermonde . Because their nature was cruel and evil, like demons. There is an old saying which means: People who commit too many crimes will kill themselves. After all, there is justice in the world.

“It was the best of times, and it was the worst of times. It was the age of wisdom, and it was the age of foolishness. It was the epoch of belief, and it was the epoch of incredu-lity. It was the season of light, and it was the season of darkness. It was the spring of hope, and it was the winter of despair. We had everything before us, and we had nothing before us. We were all going direct to Heaven, and we were all going direct the other way. In short, the period was so far like the present period. That some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of parison only. ”

With the beginning of above words, Dickens told us a love story called “A Tale of Two Cities”, which is one of his most important representative works. The novel profoundly exposed the society contradiction before the French Revolution, intensely attacks the aristocratic social class is dissolute and cruel, and sincerely sympathizes with the depressed classes. The novel also described many magnificent scenes like the revolt people attacked Bastille and so on, which displayed peoples great strength.

The novel has portrayed many different people. Doctor Manette is honest and kind but suffers the persecution actually , Lucie is beautiful and gentle ,Charles is graceful and noble,Lorry is upright and honest ,Sydney is semblance of indifferent, innermost feelings of warm, unconventional but also selfless and lofty,Miss Pross is straightforward and loyal,Evremonde brothers are cruel and sinister. The plex hatred is hard to solve, the cruel revenge has made more hatreds, loves rebirth in the hell edge, but take the life as the price.

Among many different kinds of people in the story, it is Sydney Carton who impressed me most.

I can’t describe my feeling at the first sight of him. To tell the truth, he was not eye-catching at that time. When the readers were immersed in the meeting between Lucie and Charles, he only played a little role as a lawyer who had the same face with Charles and extricated him from accusation through this point.

Then they went to drink. Without scruple, Carton expressed his dislike to Charles. Yes, they had the same face. But they were different. Carton was a little lawyer, while Charles was a successful man. Carton was quite free and easy, while Charles was graceful and noble. In fact, they were absolutely two distinctive men except for their appearance. Certainly, what Carton cared about was not the wealth or the position, but the love of Lucie. He realized that Lucie loved Charles, so he was barely out of control at that time.

Every time I read this part, I could feel his sincerity and broad-minded. By no means would he say a lie. He must tell you what he thinks in the heart. It is Sydney Carton, a true man.

After a short time, he can’t resist himself going to see Lucie. But when he stepped into the small forest, he saw Lucie and Charles getting together happily. He didn’t rush towards them, however, he returned without a word. Though he had a period of depression after that, he was clear who Lucie loved was not him. So what he only would do was to bless her.

Some days later, he came to meet Lucie again. He still told Lucie about his love, although he knew it was useless. He just wanted her to know it, as he said,“I want you to know that you are my last dream in my life. ”

Many times, love is a thing about only one person. “I love you.”--It’s my business, not yours.

So when Carton showed his deep love to Lucie, I suddenly felt that this man was so lovely and deserved to beloved.

“Remember always there’s a man who could give his life to you, or anyone you love.” Carton left with these words. But all of these seemed a sign of misfortune.

From then on, I came to understand how profound his love was. No doubt that it is the most moving love words in the world. Although you don’t love me, I am still there for you or your beloved though thick and thin.

But I knew in this story, Carton was bound to a tragic role. So when I saw he only left a view of his back in her wedding, there was a plex mood appearing slowly in my heart.

Some years passed. When Lucie appeared in the front of Carton, she became a mother. This time, Lucie’s face was filled with anxiety. Because Charles was in prison and would be killed soon. What lead to this was the plicated and filthy past.

From the point, the dirty of society was reflected. It was the sorrow in that period. But they must pay for this sorrow. So it was the time that Carton achieved his permission. “I told you once, for you I would do anything. I will. ” He said.

At the last moment, he and Charles exchanged. That they had the same face helped them at the second time. When Lucie and her family left without knowing the truth, Carton, instead of Charles, went to be killed.

How can we evaluate his action? We can’t say anything about it because all what he did was out of love.

As he said to the young girl who panied him before died, “If we have no fear, we can be calm all the way.” He was so calm to greet what would be ing soon, for she would get her happiness and he loved her forever.

“It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known.” With her face rising before his eyes, he went to execution ground calmly.

It is “A Tale of Two Cities”, also a tale of Sydney Carton.

双城记(A tale of two cities)英文读后感2

Crazily, but truthfully, I finished reading the most part of the novel "A Tale of Two Cities" in just one day. Lost in the story, I felt like being together with the characters and experiencing the same exciting events. Soon it came to an end. To tell you my feelings, its infinite sadness and a strong emotion that can drive me to cry.

The story is set in London and Paris at the time of the great French Revolution. It shows the causes of revolution and its effects on peoples day-to-day lives. Before the revolution, the King and the aristocracy treated their people cruelly in France. The common people were extremely poor and miserable. The crops in the fields were poor as if even the land shared the misery of the people. And there were so heavy taxes that all the villagers had nothing to hand over at last. On the other hand, the aristocracy made their will as the law by using money and gold. There were no justice, no equality and no fairness. Just as what happened to Dr Manette,he wrote to the Minister to show the crime what Marquis Evremonde had done, resulting in himself being arrested and sent to the prison Bastille without any reason.

Then this situation of darkness was needed to be changed. As people such as the Defarges prepared and arranged, at length the Revolution came to break out. When the Bastille was captured and the King was tried and put to death as well as many other aristocrats, things didnt go on as what they had been expected. The situation stayed the same, or even worse. The prisoners from the Bastille were set free while more prisons were filled with people who had done no wrong again. People who once lived on the bottom of class took the charge now and their heart had been full of evil. The only thing they wanted to do was to revenge. And these so-called "patriots" would like to see more and more innocent prisoners going to the guillotine and thats their joy. As the novel wrote,” In everything they did were merciless, for they had been hardened in the fires of suffering and the touch of pity could make no mark on them".

Equality and fairness is what people seek, which led to the French Revolution. As a consequence, neither equality nor fairness was got after the revolution. And thats the tragedy of the history.I was heavyhearted when reading what Sydney Carton said before death and I burst into tears finally.

Robinson Crusoe is a novel written by Daniel Defoe that was first published in 1719. This novel describes the legendary experience of Robinson drifting on island, overcoming difficulties and his hard pioneering experience. He lived alone in a small island, so that he had to plant crops to feed himself and build log cabin to live in. He experienced various hardships and ultimately survived. But he still tried hard to come back to real world. After 28 years, he finally came back to England. This novel gives me some inspiration. It tells us that no matter how hard the situation is, we can"t give up and we must hold the view that we can do it.

This is a novel by the English author Daniel Defoe, published in 1719. It is one of the most popular adventure novels in all literature. It is the story of Bobinson Crusoe, an Englishman who is shipwrecked in a lonely tropical island. He builds himself a hut, grows his own food, and becomes self-sufficient. After 23 years he meets with a group of cannibals and rescues one of their prisoners, a young native whome he calls Friday.Crusoe and his“man”Friday become close friends, and when they are finally rescued four years later, both return to England.

Robinson Crusoe was partly based on the actual deeds of Alexander Selkirk, an 18th-century Scottish sailor who spent almost five years alone on a desert island. This novel is famous for its lovely details and its expression of belief in man"s ability when left alone in nature.

Robinson Crusoe Robinson Crusoe was written by Daniel Defoe. It tells the story of a young explorer who becomes marooned on a deserted island. His experiences of the island change his outlook on life. The story takes place in the 1700"s on a deserted island somewhere off the coast of Brazil. The island is fairly large in size and has a small shore. The interior of the island has many trees, wild pigs and other small animals and a small cave in which Crusoe stores food.

“I walked about the shore lifting up my hands. Look around, I see nothing but water, a forest, and the remains of my ship. At first, I was afraid of wild animals but after some exploration of the land, the only animals I had seen were wild pigs, squirrels, and some small birds.” The only possessions that Crusoe retrieved from the remains of his ship were a small knife, a box of tobacco, a pipe, and a small book that would later become his journal.

Robinson Crusoe was a young and stubborn explorer. He was extremely tall and strong. His stay on the island changed him from a mean, stubborn man to an open-minded person. “Standing at six feet, two inches and having my long, thick brown hair back in a ponytail, I felt as if I was eight feet tall.
